Senator,
You took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States! Verbably you support the law enforcement segment of our society!
But when it comes time for you to stand up for both, you failed. At a time when you as our elected representative, should be working to restore our economy and help heal our Nation in the spirit of brotherhood, you failed to the Nth degree.
On January 6, 2021 our nation's Capitol suffered the worst physically destructive attack since 1812! Both attacks had the same intention, destroy/disrupt our civilized governance. Thank goodness in 1812 we had Patriots that defended our Country! Your non-vote on 5/28 demonstrates your cowardly leadership. It is sad as we approach this Memorial Day weekend to honor those brave service men and women who paid the ultimant price for our freedom, that you chose to not show up to simply vote to uncover the core leadership of the 1/6 insurrection. Any farmer knows that you have to destroy the root system of Johnsongrass to rid it from your cropland. By your inaction, no doubt remains in our minds that you want to protect the leadership of the 1/6 insurrection.
Actions Speak Louder Than Words.

The emotional testimony given by police officers at the House hearing was authentic, especially as some of them were among the 100 or so injured in the violence. The compassion shown by the Democrat House members was well deserved, but one wonders why they had little to say about the 100 police and Secret Service personnel injured in the May 29 BLM/Antifa assault on the White House last year, or the estimated 2,000 cops injured in BLM/Antifa riots over the late spring and summer of 2020. Everyone is justifiably appalled at the alleged $1.5 million in damages done by Trump supporters to the Capitol, but Democrats seem oblivious to the estimated $2.5 billion in damages caused during the summer riots.
The left expresses outrage that Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi had to be whisked out of the House chamber by Capitol police, and that some of her staff cowered under their desks during the incursion. But they mocked Trump when he and his wife and child, under orders from the Secret Service, took refuge in a secure underground area during the White House attack. Comedian and leftist icon Stephen Colbert drew guffaws when he joked how “The big, strong ‘law and order’ president hid in an underground bunker.”
Here’s the problem: For months last year, the left normalized rioting as part of “peaceful protests.” Who can forget the CNN reporter, the cityscape in the background flaming, describing the “mostly peaceful protest” he was covering? The bear spray, fireworks, clubs, helmets, shields, frozen water bottles and strategic stockpiles of bricks and other weapons employed in the BLM/Antifa events, along with extreme aggression toward police, were a model for some of the Trump supporters who stormed the Capitol. When rioters repeatedly tried to burn a federal courthouse in Portland, Ore., why were they not hunted down and charged with both arson and attempting to interfere with government proceedings?
o call Jan. 6 an insurrection is to dilute the severity of the charge. This was a despicable riot in a building that has been partially burned once and bombed several times by true enemies of the country. There were no firearms seized from protestors outside or inside the Capitol, and the invaders didn’t seem to have a plan for what to do once they got in. There was no leader, no hostages taken, no formal demands made and no snipers taking up position. Fortunately, no invaluable art was destroyed and no fires were set. This was a constitutional protest that, like so many others last year, was hijacked by extremists who converted it into an ugly melee. No evidence has been produced of any effort to kidnap Pelosi, although certainly some of the rioters wanted to confront her.
The “siege” ended with the invaders taking selfies and heading back to their cars and homes, where some found FBI agents waiting for them. Congress was back in session within a few hours, the Electoral College votes were duly counted, and Joe Biden was declared president.
With that tumult behind us, we need to consider the current tendency toward unequal and politicized treatment of US citizens under color of law. That is a much bigger threat to democracy than an afternoon of DC rioting.
